The tale of Patroklos, son of Sophitia Alexandra, unfolds as his family’s destiny intertwines with the Soul swords. With the series’ revolutionary 8-way run, allowing for true 3D movement during matches, a refined battle system, and stunning graphics, SOULCALIBUR V will be the top game of 2012 for anyone looking for a knock-down, drag-out fight.

Soul Calibur V Collectors Edition Announced and New Guest Characters Revealed:
Ezio Auditore from the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed® series will be a playable guest character in SOULCALIBUR TM V for PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360®.
This monumental collaboration will let players control Ezio and his wide range of assassination tools including a Roman Longsword, Stiletto, Crossbow, Hidden gun and his trademark Hidden blade.
“The entrance of Assassin’s Creed into the Soulcalibur universe is an historic meeting of two of the most revered and influential game series,” said Olivier Comte, Senior Vice President at NAMCO BANDAI Partners. “Ezio has captured the imaginations of millions of fans around the world, and it will be very exciting to see how his lightning fast moves stand up to the mighty swordplay of Soulcalibur’s finest.”
“We are thrilled to see Ezio enter the world of Soulcalibur, as we believe the values of both brands fit together” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Ubisoft. “We think that this partnership will bring a great new gameplay experience to both Soulcalibur and Assassin’s Creed fans”.

Yet another Soul Calibur... BUT again Im excited! Damn you Ezio for being in the game!
In all honesty Soul Calibur is one of those graphically appealing and easy to pick up and play fighting games which is why it has such a huge fan following. I have all of them so I guess this is a must:) the collectors edition is pretty epic too

I'll probably skip this, SC3 and 4 weren't all that good.
Which is sad since this has been my favourite fighting series and now I don't even want to look at the new ones. . .

I only ever played the first one on PS1, which i liked! Lost interest after that. Got a chance to play 4, did not like it one bit! This will be a pass for me!
Having Ezio in the game does sound cool though!

Soul Calibur V Costumes Designed By Bayonetta’s Designer. Bayonetta Was Considered As Guest
So it seems the only thing stopping Bayonetta from being in the game was time, hopefully she comes up as DLC because that would make me play the game for years
Here is hoping for some Bayonetta DLC.
Soul Calibur V seems to be going after some sort of record when it comes to collaboration and outsourcing. In addition to having CyberConnect 2 work on their story mode and Creative Intelligence Arts/Forcewick Sound Design working on their audio, Namco has also revealed that Bayonetta character designer Mari Shimazaki is contributing costumes to the game.
Shimazaki will be working on alternate costumes for Ivy and Tira as well as the default costume for Leixia. Given Shimazaki’s work on Bayonetta, the character was also considered as a possible guest character for the series. However, her hair attacks proved to be too elaborate and animating her magical attacks would not have fit in the games tight schedule.

I'm kinda excited for Soul Calibur V, have to agree IV was not that good, enjoyed Broken Destiny on PSP more.
I played the buttons off my PS2 controller in III though, spend hour upon hour in that game...

If you ask me, they just went for a character that was more widely popular. I dont think the animating excuse is 100% legit.
At the end of teh day, Ezio is more capable of getting people to buy SC5 then Bayonetta will.

Lol a hot Librarian looking lady whose clothes are made of her own hair and depending on her attacks strength reveals more of her skin till she is almost naked over some assassin dude in a clock?
You over estimate the average gaming crowd lol, Bayonetta would sell more copies than Ezio could dream off thanks to the perverted kids of this generation.
As for me I'm hoping she comes as DLC at some stage as I can easily understand how much harder it is to implement her into this game over Ezio.

I`d agree with your point if SC was not already filled with hot girls with revealing clothing.
1 more is not going to cause a whole surge of sales.
Honestly, there is no way that Bayonetta would help make the game more marketable over Ezio. Assassin`s Creed is one of the wonder IP`s of this gen with each iteration hitting probably 4 million in sales on each console. Bayonetta with its 1 release has barely hit a million on both consoles.
Ezio is just a more well known character in the gaming world: he is far more bankable than Bayonetta will be.
Count in AC cross promotion with MGS4 and now with FF13, this becomes even more so.
