Last night, Grasshopper Manufacture officially announced Lollipop Chainsaw via Famitsu magazine. Today, the Famitsu website has a few screenshots up for viewing.
In Lollipop Chainsaw, you play as Juliet Sterling, a student at San Romero High. Juliet’s a cheerleader. She’s also the descendent of a family of zombie hunters. On her 18th birthday, a bunch of zombies show up at her school. Whoops.
As you’d expect, Juliet uses a chainsaw to do her zombie-hunting, but being a cheerleader, she’s also got some far-ranging kicks and the like. By fulfilling certain unspecified conditions, you’ll be able to power her chainsaw up as well. Oh, and Juliet’s favourite colour is pink.

Cowboys vs Aliens actually looks like a heck of a fun movie. Nothing really spectacular but a fun popcorn flick.
But I get what you're trying to say, next we'll get a Pirates vs Ninjas movie :p

I second that, Cowboys & Aliens looks incredibly fun, it won't win any awards but hell, who cares?
I don't think for one second that Grasshopper Manufacture is running low on ideas, they make games with concepts like this, it's kinda their thing, and all of their games thus far have been pretty great.

Grasshopper Manufacture’s next game, Lollipop Chainsaw, was only just announced in Japan about ten days ago, but it’s already being officially confirmed for an overseas release. Warner Bros. will be publishing the zombie game outside Japan.
Lollipop Chainsaw is about an 18-year-old cheerleader, Juliet Sterling, who attends San Romero High. Juliet is from a line of zombie hunters, and zombies happen to show up at her school on her 18th birthday. Juliet takes them on with her pink chainsaw.
The game’s website is up now, too, and appears to confirm both an American and European release. It describes Lollipop Chainsaw as a game “bursting with sex, blood and rock ‘n’ roll” that has you uncovering a plot contrived by zombie rock lords to kill Juliet.

Looks pretty weak. Will wait for more footage, would like an actual proper hack 'n slash with some actual strategy, variety and depth. All this looks like is another boring hack 'n slash game with mindless button presses.
