@Lurch, the entire terrorist side of things has become a bit stupid in games. Resident Evil 4 and onward pretty much just incorporated it badly, and Dead Space 3 went the same silly route.

@Tea - it was a sudden change from sinister background force to outright terrorists but Earth could prove a great location. Level design was another concern of mine tho - DS1 and 2 felt like real-ish locations converted into shooting galleries. DS3 felt too much like shooting galleries dressed up as locations. Hope they get the balance back in subsequent games.

That I agree with, wasnt expecting them to go that direction but religious zealots tend to condone terrorist type activity. It might more sense if dead space 4 takes place on earth after the events in awakening. I want to what happens between earth gov and unitologists now

Not yet, but I decided to check out a condensed playthrough on Youtube. It was certainly an improvement and I liked the more traditional ending but still some damage has been done to the characters and universe they created in DS1,2 and the books,comics. I just found the Unitologists progression to terrorists a shame.

Sadly most survival-horror always seems to lead into action-horror eventually. I was really worried about Res Evil 6 but as soon as I played it for what is was (essentially a crazy action adventure with zombies) I enjoyed it for what it was worth and enjoyed some couch co-op. DS3 I found was great in SP. It was mostly the stupidification (I want this to be a real word!) of the story that most annoyed me.

yeah me too! if that does well hopefully it will help revive the survival horror genre
