Lurch06 July at 13:14 @Knight - Deceptively so. Once you start sailing between major of offshore islands you'll realize it's quite vast, but not so large in terms of overall landmass. The major battles come at the end of Act 2 and 3 if I remember (I think it's a 3-act structure anyway). Contracts and smaller quests can still be done after the end of the game but major side-quests would be cut off due to world events.
KnightFall50006 July at 13:08 @Lurch Skellige does not look so big?
Is there a boss battle at the end?
& can you carry on with side quests once to are done with the story?
TempestXtreme06 July at 12:37 Is Dragon Age: Inquisition still being patched?
Lurch06 July at 12:06 @Knight - Skellige is both larger but more focused than the previous areas. You go from island to island so quests tend to be contained to a smaller landmass (it also brought back a lot of Skyrim nostalgia for me). Certain side quests only open up later in the story but by doing most content early, you better equip yourself and fast-track certain parts of the following 2 acts.
KnightFall50006 July at 11:57 @Luch I try doing most of the side quests before moving on to a new area.
Velen & Novigrad are BIG! Been there a while now.
then its Skellege!
Lurch06 July at 11:52 @Knight - if you've been doing a lot of side-content in each area before moving on to Skellige, you're probably about halfway through all the content. Story-wise, probably about a third of the way.
