Corrosive27 January at 11:26 Jumping in on a tangent here, but…
I wonder if SA would benefit from a different voting system like an Alternative Vote or Single Transferable Vote system. But I guess those are too complicated for our young democracy
Morschee27 January at 10:59 @ Zombia - For sure man, and insurances don't pay out easily if you were robbed and your alarm wasn't fully functional.
I have 3 alarm batteries. I keep 2 on charge at work and 1 at home, so when I'm at work I can't obviously go home and switch my generator on, so when I get home I change the battery that worked the whole day and couldn't charge.
Such a pitty we have to live like this...but I guess 64% of the country can't be wrong, right?
Morschee27 January at 10:56 I guess you lucky, it's not crappy areas, that's for sure. I hardly call Sandton, Bryanston and Melrose crappy areas, they were gridlocked for 4 hours yesterday due to load shedding.
And the way things are heading, its just going to get worse and worse...trust me, a generator is an investment, not expense. I have to have one, I have kids and do lots of work when I'm home, so I generator is a must for me.
Zombia27 January at 10:52 We have a small generator as well. Makes a lot of noise but it's the price to pay for safety. Pretty sure criminals will have a field day if and when the power goes out countrywide
DarkPrince27 January at 10:51 I stay in fourways and we have had load shedding twice, once was for 4 hours during a Saturday, so obviously we didn't mind since we just went out. The other was another Saturday for 2 hours and we weren't at home anyway That or they where just doing maintenance It's all the crappy areas that get affected the most lol
Morschee27 January at 10:45 Where I live now, the generator is close to the house, so it's noisy, but having electricity is more important than the noise, especially if you have kids.
In my new house (my yard is much bigger) I'm building a small brick house right at the back of my yard with an electrical plug that's connected to my house, putting my generator in there, now i'll have electricity and no noisy, BONUS
