Thanks Vice. I'm going to weigh up my options. I've had my PS3 since mid 2009 without any hassles and it has seen countless hours, I'd rather try repair it than take on a refurbished unit that could have its own problems.
@ChimeranMan partserve doesn't actually repair consoles they just give you a refurbished model. I would know all I need was a new internal battery for my ps3 clock told me I will receive a refurbished model from them if I bring it in
@TheOne I picked up a WiiU when retailers were dumping them so it was worth it for R1k. Played a few games on it, but best by far was Xenoblade 2. Only game I really put time into. After that I realised I need to hold on with the Switch
@TheOne - did you ever keep an eye out for some of the digital games available in Wii U/Switch? It's rare but sometimes the Nintendo online store has a couple titles on sale., especially older stuff that is hard to find in retail.
Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled high school students - the protagonist and a collection of compatriots he meets in the game's story - who live dual lives as Phantom Thieves. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high schooler - attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the "self".
The game's heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective masks and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.
